Kattidj Nagãr [Peaceful Quiet Reflection]

Saturday 8th February 2025 to Friday 19th December 2025

John Curtin Gallery invites you to pause and take a quiet moment to sit with the stories of the Carrolup children, reflecting on their lived experiences as part of the Stolen Generations.

This space offers more than just a glimpse into the past – it is a place to connect with the resilience, creativity, and enduring spirit of these children who were forcibly removed from their families and detained at the Carrolup Native Settlement in the 1940s.

Kattidj Nagãr features artworks and personal objects created by the children, each piece holding memories of loss, survival, and an unbroken connection to Country. It is a dedicated space for reflection, remembrance, and the sharing of truth, welcoming all who wish to honour these stories and carry them forward.

Kattidj Nagãr is open to you throughout the year, offering an ongoing invitation to engage with this important history in a spirit of respect and understanding.
